You know that feeling when someone gives you a gift and you can just feel the thought they put into it? Not something last-minute from a random aisle, but something that says, “I saw this and thought of you, habibti.” There’s so much love in that moment. In Islam, that love is more than just sweet—it’s sunnah.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Give gifts and you will love one another.” (Bukhari)
SubhanAllah. A beautiful sunnah that builds love, softens hearts, and strengthens relationships. And it doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. Even a simple note, a small token, or a plate of handmade mamoul can become a source of connection and barakah.
That’s one of the reasons I started The Nour Company. I wanted to create faith-inspired gifts that feel intentional—things that aren’t just “things,” but expressions of love, du’a, and beauty. Whether it’s a glass cup with a powerful reminder, a journal for reflection, or a bookmark, every piece is designed with all of my heart.
I truly believe that the act of giving doesn’t just benefit the person receiving it, it does something for you, too. When you give for the sake of Allah, your heart gets lighter. You feel more grounded. It’s one of those quiet joys that fills you up in ways you didn’t expect.
Sometimes, that gift is for someone you love. Other times, it’s for yourself, and that’s okay, too. Buying yourself a reminder of Allah, a calming scent, or a piece that brings your space to life with faith? That’s self-care. That’s love. That’s worship, when done with the right intention.
So the next time you wrap a gift (or slide one into a gift bag 3 minutes before the party...we’ve all been there), just know: you’re living the Sunnah. You’re spreading light. You’re part of something beautiful.
May every gift you give be full of meaning, may it bring hearts closer, and may it always carry a little extra barakah.
With love, du’as,
Valeria
